Services for Cashew Growers & Farmers
PCCNI is more than a cooperative; we are a support system for our members. We provide a comprehensive suite of services designed to ensure your success from seedling to sale.
We operate a community-run nursery that produces thousands of resilient, high-yield cashew seedlings annually. These seedlings are specifically adapted to the local climate and soil conditions of Bombali District. By providing members with access to quality planting materials, we ensure a strong start for every new plantation, leading to higher productivity and better long-term returns.
Knowledge is power. We run regular Farmer Field Schools and training workshops covering the entire cashew value chain. Our practical training modules include:
Nursery Management; Agroforestry & Climate-Smart Practices; Pest and Disease Control; Harvesting & Post-Harvest Handling; Cooperative Management.
One of the biggest challenges for smallholder farmers is accessing fair and stable markets. PCCNI solves this by aggregating the harvests of our members and negotiating directly with wholesalers and exporters. This collective power allows us to secure better prices and supply contracts, ensuring our farmers receive a dignified income for their hard work.
To reduce post-harvest losses—a major issue in agriculture—we have built centralised, community-owned storage and drying facilities. Our members get priority access to these facilities, ensuring their produce is protected from the elements and maintains its premium quality while awaiting sale.
Leveraging our founder’s expertise and growing experience, we offer consultancy services to other organisations, NGOs, or government bodies looking to establish similar people-centred agricultural initiatives. We share our proven model for community engagement, sustainable cashew cultivation, and cooperative management.
We open our doors to students, researchers, agribusiness professionals, and curious visitors. Our farm tours provide a first-hand look at our sustainable cashew plantations, nursery operations, and community-led model. It’s an immersive experience to see how “Empowering Farmers, Growing Prosperity” works in practice.
